Mercedes llama autos a revisión

Mercedes ha llamado 85,078 autos a revisión en Estados Unidos, modelos 2010-11, clase C y E, debido a un problema de pérdida de fluido en el sistema del timón hidráulico. Se menciona que autos en otros países pueden presentar el problema, así que los que han adquirido estos modelos estén pendientes. Aqui el texto del Web site donde lo encontré,
Mercedes-Benz is pulling out at least 85,078 vehicles due to problems with power steering, after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) issued a safety warning to the German company. This would include models sold in the US from year 2010-2011.

The repercussion of such a problem could eventually result to a loss of fluid in the steering system’s pump, which may also heighten the risk of an accident. Dealers will also check and re-torque the fittings without any charge. The safety notice stated that car owners may not have enough control of the automobiles in places such as parking lots, where power steering is strongly required, thus, increasing the odds of a vehicle crash. The power steering system in the subject vehicles may fail due to the loss of its power steering fluid.

The recall takes in a variety of 2010 C-Class and E-Class model, including the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet models. It is also possible that the recall could include vehicles on other countries outside the Unites States. The safety recall is set to start this October 2010. Mercedes-Benz intends to take care of the problem in the said models by re-tightening a faulty fitting. Owners may call Mercedes-Benz at 1-800-367-6372.

Cierto. Ya lo había visto por ahí, aunque los artículos difieren mucho en cuanto al número de vehículos llados a revisión.

Aparentemente se trata de la posible pérdida del líquido de la dirección ante un aumento de presión.

Mi coche C220 CDI Blueffi.... matriculado en diembre de 2009 acaba de salir del conce, me llamaron para cambiar los famosos inyectores y ademas revisar un racord de la dirección.
Finalmente se cambiarón los inyectores y el racord solamente fue revisado. Espero que todo sea eso.
